Planting and Growing a Butterfly Garden

What: Planning and Growing a Butterfly Garden
When: May 5, 11 AM
Where: Jackson County Spring Garden Fair at the Jackson County Expo

For 40 years the Jackson County Master Gardener Association has sponsored the annual Spring Garden Fair, every May at the Jackson County Expo. It is a great way to mark the start of summer here in the Rogue Valley!

Again this year, Robin will give her Butterfly Garden talk, describing how you can help sustain our declining western Monarch butterfly populations while bringing more color, movement and biodiversity into your gardens.

She covers:

  • growing host plants and nectar plants
  • advance planning
  • basic garden design
  • growing milkweed from seed
  • and the best plant choices for sustained bloom

You will learn not only how to attract butterflies to your garden, but how to sustain a healthy population of endangered Monarch butterflies.

This is a free presentation, however general admission to the Garden Fair is $3. Parking is free. Learn more, here.
